How to notarize a passport photocopy for use in China?<\/h3>\n

You must first make a full page photocopy of your passport meaning the top and bottom pages are included. The Chinese Consulate\/Embassy prefers to have a declaration statement from the passport holder and acknowledgement statement from the notary public. The statement should be on a separate piece of paper. The declaration from the passport holder should state the passport photocopy is a true and unaltered copy. The notary’s acknowledgement statement should state something like “”Signed and sworn (or affirm) to before me this___ day of _______, 20__.”. Do not complete, sign or date the document until you are in front of a notary public. You will bring the original passport, photocopy, statement and a valid ID (passport or driver’s license) to a local notary public. The notary will then notarize your signature.<\/p>\n

This method can also be used for other identification documents such as driver’s license, green card, etc.<\/p>\n

*Certain states require a County Clerk to certify the notary’s signature. Please check with your state’s requirements before proceeding to next steps.<\/span><\/p>\n
